Father Burn the Dead Body of Son in Butuan As They Can’t Afford the Funeral
A poor father burn the body of his deceased son in Butuan City due to financial lackness as they can’t afford to pay funeral services.
According to the report of Unang Balita, Monday, a father in Butuan City burned the body of his deceased son because he did not have the money to bury it formally.
Authorities found out what his father Rolando Casipong did after his two other children reported it. Authorities found a big pit for the burning process.
According to the two children, their mother with disabilities even helped with the “Do it yourself” (DIY) cremation and burial of their son’s corpse.

The poor father admitted the cremation. According to him, his son died at the age of 24 due to an illness.
Casipong defended, they were just poor so he was able to burn the child’s body. Eventually, the siblings decided not to sue their father.
Families mostly living in rural or remote areas are lack finances because they have less opportunity to work and they just earned money through selling crops and other produce. Having an illness is very difficult for their situation as medical assistance rarely visits their place.
