Jose Manalo Gives Advice to His Newly Married Son Benj Manalo

“Eat Bulaga” Dabarkads and host of “Catch Me Out Philippines” Jose Manalo gave some tips and advice to his newly married son Benj Manalo.

In the virtual mediacon of “Catch Me Out Philippines”, Jose shared that his son called him to ask for his blessing to their wedding with the Kapuso comedienne Lovely Abella. Jose told his son that he’s old enough and he already knows what will be his answer.

“Before pa siya ikasal, tumawag siya sa akin at sinabing magpapakasal na siya para humingi ng basbas. Sabi ko sa kanya na, ‘Benj, at your age siguro alam mo na ‘yan. Sa dami na rin ng pinalamon ko sa yong pangaral,” said Jose.

He added that he is “pangaral” who likes to give words of wisdom even though he can’t apply it to himself. “Mahilig akong magbigay ng pangaral kahit hindi ko mapangaralan sarili ko. Pero, kapag sa anak gagawin mo ang lahat.”

“Kilala ko na ‘yang si Benj. Siya ‘yung taong may gustong patunayan sa sarili niya na ito ang kaya ko, which is niri-respeto ko. Sinabi ko sa kanya, ‘Pumasok ka sa ganyang buhay kaya alam ko na alam mo ‘yung decision mo,” the comedian added.

If he has strong advice for the son as well as for Lovely, that is he stands as a pillar of the home and not to leave the family despite the trials. Jose said that he should never give up if there are no bad reasons at all.

“Kung masasalba mo ang asawa mo at pamilya mo, kailangan ituloy-tuloy mo ‘yan. Sa tingin ko mas masarap mag mahal kaysa mahalin. Mas masarap mag-serve kaysa pagsilbihan ka,” Jose said.

He added, “So, ayun. Ang haba ng pasensya lang naman ang ipinagpe-pray ko. Si Lovely, okay naman. Nakatrabaho ko na yan at alam kong totoong tao ‘yan at anak ko na ‘yan ngayon.”

Jose then wished them goodluck to their married life and their career the have taken together. “So goodluck sa inyong dalawa at more blessings. At sa career nila at kung ano man ang tinatahak nila. At siyempre love na love ko sila. Love na love sila ni daddy.”

Meanwhile, Jose and his co-hosts in “Catch Me Out Philippines” Kakai Bautista and Derrick Monasterio are excited about the start of GMA 7’s latest game-reality talent show. It will be airing starting Feb. 6, 7:15 p.m. on GMA 7.
