Pacquiao Not Interested In Match VS McGregor After Shocking Defeat In UFC
PACQUIAO NOT INTERESTED – Upon his return to the Octagon, the Notorious Connor McGregor suffered a shocking defeat against Dustin Poirer via knockout.
Fans expected McGregor to make easy work of his rival leading up to the fight with fighting Senator Manny Pacquiao. Unfortunately, the Irishman blacked-out in Round two against his American rival.
Earlier, the Hype for the Pacquiao-McGregor fight was at its peak. Furthermore, McGregor himself said the fight was “almost a certainty“.
“That Manny fight was happening. It was as good as done. I just want to get in and get back into a bounce, especially against that style of fighter, and not take those kicks”, said McGregor.
However, according to Sean Gibbons, Pacquiao’s President of Promotions said:
“Maybe he had the Senator on his mind. I think the demand for the fight is not there presently“
Additionally, Gibbons emphasized how McGregor needed to clean up and do work before a fight against Pacman could be set-up. “Very unfortunate, it looked like Conor looked past Dustin and got knocked out“, he told The Sun.
Instead, Pacquiao now aims for a fight against lightweight star Ryan Garcia. Meanwhile, McGregor said he was looking forward for a rematch against Russian Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
