Biden’s Plans On Day 1 Is To Dismantle Trump Legacy, Emphasize Pandemic, Climate
BIDEN’S PLAN ON DAY 1 – On his first day in office, the New President of the United States, Joe Biden moves toward reversing Donald Trump’s legacy.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Trump had downplayed the severity of the new coronavirus. Furthermore, there was a lack of public health protocols as Trump supporters follow suit on the former President’s statements that the virus is “just the flu”.
As such, Biden signs the “100 Day Mask Challenge” that makes wearing face masks mandatory on Federal properties. Furthermore, the President emphasized the importance of wearing face masks and other basic health protocols.
Along with this, Biden ordered a stop to Trump’s construction of his controversial “Wall” to separate the US from Mexico. Additionally, the President rejoined the Paris Climate Accord after Trump severed its ties with it last year.
According to an article from NBC, Biden has become the first president to sign 15 executive orders and two directives on his first day in office. Only two recent presidents signed EOs on their first day and each simply signed one.
However, with the US economy severely damaged by the pandemic, Biden showed a sense of urgency. With this, Biden aims to focus on the pandemic and restoring the economy.
