7 Chinese, 1 Pinoy Involved in Abducting and Killing POGO Workers
7 Chinese nationals and a Filipino who were allegedly involved in killing, molesting, and abducting POGO workers in Laguna.
Chinese nationals and a Filipino were arrested for allegedly killing, molesting, and abducting some Chinese Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) workers in San Pedro, Laguna. One of their victims was Lyu Long, supervisor of a POGO.
December 23 when Long was picked up with his female assistant. The kidnappers allegedly slapped his face and threatened to kill him if he could not pay the ransom money.
But Long was found dead in Talisay, Batangas after the ransom money could not be paid in full. The body was barely recognizable after being brutally stabbed in the face and beheaded.

Police Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal, deputy chief of the Anti-Organized Crime Unit-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group said that they asked for 1 million yuan. They were able to give 403,000 yuan in the hope to release the two.
Unfortunately, they were not released after they give the money. January 7 the security manager received one of the kidnap victims had been killed, Dimaandal added.
During the follow-up operation in a separate area in Laguna, 8 suspects were caught. According to police, the Xiaopei-Nanlu Chinese kidnap-for-ransom group is from mainland China.
“Ang modus nitong Chinese kidnappers, mag-a-apply as POGO workers sa atin sa Pilipinas, pag natanggap na sila maghahanap sila ng prospect nila na kikidnapin… Unfortunately, this kind of group na kahit sino magbayad ng ransom, pinapatay din po nila kasi nga po identified na sila,” said Dimaandal.
The Filipino suspect admitted to the group’s modus operandi and said that he was the one ordered to kill the victim. The suspects are facing multiple charges of kidnapping for ransom, murder, frustrated murder, rape, and illegal possession of firearms.
