The Philippine National Police (PNP), due to insufficient evidence, released the three suspects in the Christine Dacera Case.

John Pascual dela Serna III, Rommel Galido y Daluro, and John Paul Halili y Reyes were in the custody of the authorities following the death of the 23-year-old flight attendant of the Philippine Airlines.

Christine was found lifeless in the bathtub of her hotel room in Makati on January 1, 2021, the morning after their New Year’s party. Initial statement from the authorities said that it was a “rape-slay case”.

However, as days went on, the autopsy of Christine’s body, as well as the CCTV footage surfaced after the initial declaration from the PNP. Other suspects who were named were Gregorio Angelo Rafael De Guzman, Clark Rapinan, Valentine Rosales, Mark Anthony Rosales, Rey Ingles y Mabini, Louie de Lima, Jammyr Cunanan, and Alias Ed Madrid.

De Guzman, the son of veteran singer Claire Dela Fuente, has already released a statement denying the “rape-slay”.

On Wednesday afternoon, January 6, based on the article from the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Office of Prosecutor of Makati City released a resolution signed by Assistant City Prosecutor Joan Bolina-Santilla.

The resolution was approved by Deputy City Prosecutor Henry Salazar and signed also by Makati City Prosecutor Dindo Venturanza ordering the release of three suspects due to insufficient evidence pointing to the “rape with homicide” complaint.

In another report from PEP, it was stated that Prosecutor General Benedicto Malcontento said that they will conduct a preliminary investigation on January 13.
