PAGASA – ITCZ, Northeast Monsoon To Affect Parts Of PH This January 6, 2021

PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day January 6, 2021 (Wednesday).

The 4 AM daily weather forecast from the state weather bureau says that the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ will affect Mindanao while the Northeast Monsoon or amihan will affect Luzon.

According to the website, the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN and BARMM. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.

The Tail-End of Frontal System, on the other hand, will bring cloudy skies with rains and thunderstorms over Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes and Samar provinces. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

The northeast monsoon or amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region; and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The rest of the country will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the forecast, for the wind speed forecast and coastal water condition, Luzon will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the northeast direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the east to northeast direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will face light to moderate winds that are moving in the northeast direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
