The Philippines has already imposed a ban on flights coming from the United Kingdom which started from December 24 to December 31 but traveling to the UK is not yet barred. One can go to the UK if the exit protocols of the country are followed.

If ever the ban will not be extended, people from the UK going to the Philippines would have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine at a facility in New Clark City in Tarlac.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said about this, “Based on these mutations, this variant strain has been predicted to potentially be more rapidly transmissible than other circulating strains of SARS-CoV-2.”

Meanwhile, a new variant but a separate one has also been detected in South Africa.
