Illegal Drugs Worth P6.8 Million Seized In Zamboanga Sibugay
ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – About a kilo of suspected illegal drugs which is worth P6.8 million were seized by authorities in Zamboanga Sibugay.
Zamboanga Peninsula Police (PRO-9) Director Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro E. Ylagan reported that operatives conducted an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Lumbog, Imelda town at 2:15 PM, according to a report from Manila Bulletin.
At the same time, three suspects were arrested, They were identified by the police as Crimalde I Tarawi, aged 53, married of Simunul, Tawi-Tawi; Albasir N Masihul, aged 26, of Barangay Sawa, Mabuhay town and Basir B Alano, aged 48, of Tulay, Jolo, Sulu.
The operation was conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group, Imelda Municipal Police Station and 1st Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Mobile Force Company.
Retrieved from the suspects was was a black plastic bag containing 18 pack of suspected illegal drugs that weighed about a kilo with an estimated market value of P6.8 million.
Also seized from the suspects was a bag containing a bundle of boodle money, based on the report.
They were taken to the detention cell of the Imelda Municipal Police Station, and will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Ylagan lauded the efforts of the PNP-DEG and other police units for the accomplishment in the fight against illegal drugs in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
