Local Engineer Faces Charges After Allegedly Abusing Helpless Woman Inside Quarantine Facility in Palawan
A local engineer is now facing charges after allegedly abusing a lady at a quarantine facility in the province of Palawan.
On Tuesday (December 22, 2020), Agutaya Mayor Perla Bacuel reported that a 26-year-old local engineer has been facing criminal charges after harassing and abusing a woman who was placed under mandatory quarantine period.
The female victim who is an allowed person outside residence has been transferred at Agutaya town in Palawan province from another town. She was required to undergo a mandatory quarantine period for a couple of days.
Bacuel revealed that the suspect was drunk when he entered the quarantine facility and abused the helpless victim. The woman is spending a few days at the center for quarantine when the incident happened.
“According to my staff, the suspect was drunk. He was able to enter the quarantine facility where the victim was. She was there only for a couple of days for quarantine,” Bacuel said.
However, the City Mayor refused to reveal the name and the identity of the suspect but identified him as a resident of Barangay Villa Fria in Agutaya. The engineer is believed to be a contractor of a power supply company.
The suspect will be transferred to Puerto Princesa for inquest proceeding within the next few days while Gov. Jose Alvarez will assist the lady victim to go in the city via helicopter.
