PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently said that Tropical Storm Vicky has weakened into tropical depression.

The 11 AM update from the state weather bureau says that the tropical cyclone wind signal over KAlayaan Islands has been lifted

However, the surge of the northeast monsoon or amihan enhanced by Vicky (Internationally named Krovanh) will bring strong to gale-force winds over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and the northern portions of Cagayan, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte.

Occasional gusty conditions will also be faced by the eastern portions of mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Palawan including Calamian Islands.

Vicky has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday, December 20, 2020.

Based on the report, Kalayaan Islands, Babuyan and Calayan Islands, the eastern portion of mainland Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and the northern portion of Quezon will still face moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of mainland Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Camarines Norte and the rest of Quezon will face light to moderate with occasionally heavy rains.

“Flooding (including flash floods) and rain-induced landslides may occur during heavy or prolonged periods of rainfall, especially in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards and in localities that received significant antecedent rainfall over the past couple of days or weeks,”
