Authorities arrested 332 foreigners in Bamban, Tarlac allegedly found working without necessary visas, Wednesday.

The foreigners were found working in a wide office with tinted windows in Bamban, Tarlac. The foreigners were allegedly involved in online gambling, internet fraud, and other cybercrime, according to the report of Unang Balita.

During the operation, three nationalities including eight Malaysians, one Indonesian, and the rest are Chinese were found working by manning computers, using cellular phones, and other electronic devices, without proper working visas.

According to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, their worksite was in a compound that was under construction, and they didn’t leave the premises as they already have their barracks there.

Based on the report, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) operatives have conducted the clandestine operation. The BI said the foreigners have violated the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.

All 332 are currently under the physical custody of the NBI pending the filing of appropriate immigration charges and actual deportation. Meanwhile, the arrested foreigners did not give any statement to the media.
