It is a constellation in the northern sky. It is one of the zodiac constellations which lies between Aries constellation to the east and Aquarius to the west.

It is known as the Fish and is represented by two celestial fish which also represent Venus and Cupid in Roman mythology, who transformed themselves into fish to escape the monster Typhon.

It is the 14th constellation in size, which occupies an area of 889 square degrees and can be found in NQ1, the first quadrant in the northern hemisphere.

As mentioned, it belongs to the zodiac family of constellations, along with Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpius, Sagittarius, Capricornus and Aquarius.

The constellation contains a single Messier object, known as the spiral galaxy Messier 74. Its brightest star is the Eta Piscium and has one meteor shower associated with it called the Piscids.

Pisces is of Babylonian origin. They saw it s a pair of fish joined by a cord. It is also associated with the Roman myth of Venus and Cupid, who tied themselves with a rope and became a fish.
