Palace Says Pres. Duterte Won’t Say Sorry to Vice Pres. Robredo

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will not apologize to Vice Pres. Leni Robredo over his negative remarks according to the Palace.

Recently, Pres. Duterte threw tirades against Vice Pres. Robredo. It was over the issues amid the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses that brought severe damage to several areas in the country.

Marikina, Cagayan, and Rizal residents had to climb their rooftops to get away from the rising water level amid the onslaught of Ulysses. The typhoon triggered landslide and flooding.

Amid the onslaught of the typhoon, #NasaanAngPangulo trended on social media. Following it, the President lashed out against the Vice President seemingly accusing her of asking his whereabouts.

The Chief Executive stressed that he’s in the Palace attending the Summit. He also expressed that the military was deployed two days before the onslaught of the typhoon.

The President also asked the Vice President on what time and which house does she goes home to. For her part, the second top official of the government stressed that she never asked for the whereabouts of the Chief Executive.

According to Vice Pres. Robredo, Pres. Duterte is surrounded by peddlers of false information so she’s wondering what news triggered the Chief Executive. Palace’s chief legal counsel Salvador Panelo and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana have apologized to the Vice President over the wrong information about her efforts to help the Ulysses victims.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Duterte won’t apologize to Vice Pres. Robredo over the negative remarks. Palace’s spokesperson Harry Roque said that the President never said the Vice President boarded the C-130 plane of the government.

“Tapos na po iyon. Nag public apology na sila (cabinet officials) ano pa ang gusto natin,” Roque said.
