Direk Edgar Mortiz is now part of ‘Wowowin’
Wowowin host Willie Revillame confirmed that Direk Edgar Mortiz is now part of his Kapuso game show.
Direk Edgar was previously directing several comedy shows and sitcoms in ABS-CBN. He was the director of Goin Bulilit and Banana Sundae, as well as the sitcom Home Sweetie Home.
His previous projects were indeed successful because these shows ran for several years before they finally went off the air. However, just like many talents and employees of the Kapamilya network, the actor-director also found a new opportunity outside ABS-CBN.
Based on the article from the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Direk Edgar Mortiz was seen on Willie Revillame’s Wowowin during its recent episode. It was said that many viewers wondered why the known Kapamilya director was seen in the Kapuso show.
When Willie was asked about this, he said that the actor-director is now the creative and production of Wowowin. The host and the director have been friends with each other for many years now.
Direk Edgar was the one who directed Willie’s Wowowee that was aired on ABS-CBN. They have remained friends over the years even though the hosts transferred to TV5 in 2010 until he became part of the Kapuso network.
Direk Edgar Mortiz is also the line producer and director of Kapatid’s gag show Sunday Kada under Brightlight Productions.
Meanwhile, another director from ABS-CBN reportedly transferred to the Kapatid network. Entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin revealed that Direk Bobet Vidanes is no longer directing It’s Showtime.
Following this, Cristy revealed the complaints against an unnamed director. Reportedly, the said director is “mayabang” and does not know how to treat well the people in the production.
