Netizen Shows Video Of Magat Dam Raging, Severe Overflowing
MAGAT DAM – Amid the flooding, a netizen showed a video capturing the severe overflowing of Magat Dam.
Cagayan continues to get flooded as Magat Dam overflows due to heavy rains from Typhoon Ulysses. “Magat Dam in Cagayan is currently overflowing with water, flooding Cagayan. People remain stranded, and some people have died already.”, said a Netizen on Twitter.
Earlier today, heartbreak and sorrow befell the Filipino people as Cagayan drowned in the floods. The hashtags #CagayanNeedsHelp, #RescuePh, #Sobrang Nakakagalit trended as people shared inside photos and videos of the flood-stricken province.
In the video you could clearly see how intense the overflowing water is. Meanwhile, seeing videos of the flood posted in Cagayan, you could already see the overflowing dam’s severe effects on residential areas.
Although not as strong as Ondoy, it seemed like Typhoon Ulysses dealt more damage as its aftermath caused “the worst flooding”, says Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba. Furthermore, as if 8:00 a.m., Earth Shakers reported that the water level in Magat Dam is fortunately continuing to decrease.
However, at around 3:00 a.m., the reservoir water level was at 192.1 meters with spillings levels at 193.00 meters. Meanwhile, inflow and outflow were 1,671 cms and 2,045 cms respectively. This meant that around 3:00 a.m. when Cagayan cried desperately for help, the Magat Dam remained in a Critical State.
