Miss Rizal experienced these things during the Miss Philippines 2020 pageant
Ericka Evangelista, representing Rizal in the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 shared that she experienced a series of unfortunate events.
The first-ever solo pageant for MUP has indeed become a memorable one. Aside from the controversy that was brought by Miss Taguig Sandra Lemonon against pageant result, Miss Quezon City Michele Gumabao also caught the attention of the online community.
It was alleged that she did not accept the result of the pageant as she was expecting to win. However, she slammed the allegations against her through her vlog.
Miss Iloilo Rabiya Mateo also became the talk of the town after she won. Other names that became popular during the pageant were Miss Bohol, Miss Manila, and Miss Cavite.
On the other hand, many pageant fans may not know that Miss Rizal Ericka Evangelista also went through a lot. Based on the article from PEP, she experienced a series of unfortunate events.
The first unfortunate event for her happened a week before the coronation night. “Binakbak ang kalsada sa tapat mismo ng bahay namin sa Cainta, so I didn’t’ have a car. I couldn’t move, I couldn’t get my gown. I couldn’t even go around to get yung mga kailangan kong bilhin,” Ericka shared.
The second one happened during the shoot for her National Costume. It should be another memorable event for Ericka in a good way as she was the one who designed her gown. It was handcrafted and featured the paintings of Angono artists.
“I got rained on three times so I had to put my make-up on three times just so I would shoot until yung last…Hindi na talaga tumigil ang ulan,” Miss Rizal revealed.
The third unfortunate event happened during the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 swimwear competition. She was having her makeup inside the comfort room when her roommate needed to use the toilet.
Ericka was having a video call with her makeup artist at that time but she had to turn off the camera and when she did she accidentally dropped her swimwear and it went directly inside the toilet bowl.
She and her roommate Miss Romblon Marie Fee Tajaran or Zsa Zsa washed it and while she was doing her hair, the latter blow dried the swimwear.
“Unfortunately, mainit yata yung blower, nasunog yung bikini! Lalo kaming nag-panic” Ericka shared.
