Doctors on Boats to Visit Typhoon-Affected Areas & Provide Medical Services
The doctors on boats would visit the typhoon-affected areas to provide medical services and deliver relief goods to the sick residents.
Philippine Medical Association (PMA) president Benito Atienza said that the agency reactivated the “Doctors on Boats” program with the aim to provide crucial medical services and relief goods to remote and flooded villages.
Atienza said that the group includes medical team, spiritual leaders, and psychiatrists to help the flood victims to fully recover with medical treatment, spiritual, and mind support.
“Through our Doctors on Boats program, we will once again serve not only the crucial medical needs of our people but also address their psychosocial processing needs in this current crisis while we bring to them much needed relief goods and drinking water, too,” Atienza said.
PMA would open its main office on North Avenue, Quezon City and other local chapters to accept donations from kind-hearted individuals who would like to donate relief goods for the typhoon victims.
