Netizens and pageant fans have been buzzing about the newly-crowned beauty queen. The controversy that was brought up by Miss Taguig Sandra Lemonon even hyped up the conversations about the MUP 2020.

Rabiya defended herself that she deserves the crown because she worked hard for it. Several beauty queens also took her side despite the scrutiny that the pageant result received.

On the other hand, those who support the beauty queen from Iloilo City showed that she is worth to be hailed as the Miss Universe Philippines 2020. In a recent article, it was revealed how she had a humble beginning and that is one of the factors that her supporters love about her.

As Rabiya Mateo‘s popularity rises, her life before the crown was dug. Her high school yearbook photo circulated on social media. It was easy for some to notice the achievements she had that was written there but some easily noticed her old photo.

Because of this, she received accusation that she had a cosmetic enhancement. Rabiya reacted to this comment from netizens through her recent Instagram Story.

She said that the photo was taken 11 years ago and at that time, she did not know how to put on makeup and choose the right angle that would flatter her look. However, Rabiya said that things are different now as she was able to be more mature.

“If there would be one thing that I want other people to know about me is that I’m beautiful then and now,” she said. Then, Rabiya Mateo called out to those who are calling other people ugly to stop doing this.
