Lea Salonga Trends On Twitter After Virtual Duet W/ Tony-nominee Jeremy Jordan
LEA SALONGA – Broadway legend Lea Salonga trended on Twitter after her virtual duet with Tony and Grammy-nominated actor and singer Jeremy Jordan.
Filipina actress and singer Lea Salonga is best known for her Tony Award-winning role in Miss Saigon. People all around the world also recognized her as the singing voice of Disney Princesses Princess Jasmine and Fa Mulan.
In 2011, Walt Disney Company named the Broadway star as ‘Disney Legend.’ In a previous article, the lyricist from the movie “The Lion King” revealed that she sang the original demo for the animated film.
Tim Rice said Lea Salonga was one tapped to record the demo of the classic Disney song “Can You Feel The Love Tonight.” In a Facebook post, she shared her experience the day she was asked by Rice to record demos for the movie.
“They were not at all worthy for release, and we were just glad to lend a helping hand. Later on, I got to rehearse the same with Matthew Broderick. The movie became a monumental success, and most certainly one of my favorites,” she said.
Lea Salonga is now one of the trending topics on Twitter after she uploaded her song cover of “Almost Paradise” from the musical ‘Footloose’ with Tony-nominee Jeremy Jordan. The two just blessed our ears with their beautiful virtual duet.
