Former Convict Shot To Death In Alegria Town, Cebu

ALEGRIA TOWN – A former convict was shot dead by assailants aboard a motorcycle in Alegria town, Cebu on Monday evening.

The incident took place past 8 PM, Monday at Sitio Sangi, Barangay Madridijos in the said town in Sitio Sangi, Barangay Madridijos, according to a report from Inquirer’s Cebu Daily News.

Police Master Sergeant Cyson Obiasada of the local Police Station identified the fatality as Kenneth Roize Hidalgo, aged 21 from Barangay Legaspi in the said town.

Hidalgo, who works as a motorcycle-for-hire driver, was waiting for passengers when he was shot by unknown assailants who was onboard a motorcycle with a companion, based on initial investigation.

The victim sustained wounds on different parts of his body, resulting in his death, based on the report.

Obiasada reported that the motive of the assassination may be personal, citing Hidalgo’s background.

In 2018, Hidalgo was arrested for selling illegal drugs but was later released in December 2019.

The Alegria Police Station are still conducting further investigation to trace the possible whereabouts of the suspects.
