RORO Tugboat Catches Fire In Cebu City Waters
RORO TUGBOAT -A tugboat owned by a roll-on, roll-off company recently caught fire in the waters off Cebu City on Monday.
The incident occurred while it was sailing along Cebu South Channel on the said day, according to a report from Inquirer’s Cebu Daily News.
The Philippine Coast Guard in Cebu says that the vessel owned by Super Shuttle, a roll-on, roll-off company, was carrying five crew members when it caught fire at 3:18 AM in the vicinity of Shell Island off the seawaters of Cebu City.
Fortunately, all crew members of the burning tugboat were rescued, and unharmed, according to the PCG. The guard also added that further investigation is being conducted in order to determine the cause of the fire on the tugboat, based on the report.
Earlier this month, within the vicinity of Cebu City, a fire razed an apartment building along J. Alcantara Street in Barangay Sambag 1.

The fire began at about 11:31 PM on the second floor of the said apartment building. Two residents were trapped inside the second floor and died due to smoke inhalation. It caused damages that were worth at about 4.8 million.
