Mauling Victim Arrested In Tagbilaran City After Punching Tanod
TAGBILARAN CITY – A man who was beaten up by several men in Tagbilaran City was arrested for punching a tanod who tried to help him.

According to a report from Bohol Chronicle, the mauling victim, identified as Kim Obiedo, aged 20 and a native of Cebu City was assaulted by several men along J. Borja Street on Wednesday evening. This urged residents to alert barangay authorities.
The barangay tanod arrived to the scene and saw a bloodied Obiedo alone in the area. The watchman, identified as Joselito Lumanta, attempted to help the mauling victim, however, the latter allegedly punched Lumanta in the face.
Lumanta sustained a bruise in the facem who then nabbed Obiedo and brought him to the local City Police Station.
Obiedo, who was seemed to have been under the influence of alcohol was detained at the police station.
Based on the report, the authorities were set to file a direct assault charge against Obiedo.
In a separate news, a gunfight in Arakan town, North Cotabato resulted in the death of a police officer and a former soldier.

The fatality, along with other members of the Arakan police, went to the ex-soldier in Sitio Pine Tree, Barangay Libertad to serve a warrant for his arrest on a murder case which happened a few years back. This ended up in a chase which killed both the cop and the suspect
