Two Containers Of Trash From America Seized In Subic

TWO CONTAINERS OF TRASH – Operatives from Bureau of Customs recently seized two containers of trash at Subic Bay International Terminal Corp.

According to a report from ABS-CBN News, the said containers was among the 30 container which arrived to the country from the United States.

They were reportedly consigned to a Bataan Twenty Twenty Inc. and were declared as American Old Corrugated Cartons for Repulping. The Customs operatives discovered trash within the shipment.

“The shipment arrived from the United States and was consigned to a certain Bataan Twenty Twenty Inc. and were declared as American Old Corrugated Cartons for Repulping,”

“Further examination of the shipment revealed prohibited waste materials which were illegally imported,”

The authorities conducted further investigations regarding the stockpile of trash.

Authorities added that those behind the incident will be faced with charges for violation of Customs Modernization and Tarriff Act, as well as environmental laws, based on the report.
