Pastry Shop Goes Viral For Manila Bay Dolomite Themed Cake

MANILA BAY DOLOMITE – To celebrate the success of Manila Bay’s new dolomite beach, a pastry shop created its own unique “dedication cake”.

Obviously, a Mañanita wouldn’t be complete without a cake. As such, The Weekend Pâtisserie created a “dolomite themed” dedication cake. But, what could be the celebration that would prompt such a cake?

Recently, the Philippines has been the recipient of heavy rainfall due to the La Niña season. Along with this, Tropical Depression Pepito also brought thunderstorms and scattered rain showers across the country.

Eventually, this caused strong waves that pushed through the sandbags that were supposed to protect the Manila Bay dolomite beach. Because of this, parts of the bay seemed to have washed out. Additionally, trash and other debris filled the bay.

However, DENR Undersecretary Benny Antiporda emphasized that the sand didn’t wash out. Instead, he asserted that black sand was washed in. This may have been the inspiration for the cake.

The Weekend Pâtisserie’s cake featured a backhoe desperately trying to fix up the beachfront. However, it looked like the black sand was close to wash-in on the remaining dolomite.

According to an article from GMA, The Weekend Patisserie is an online cake and pastry shop based in Dasmarinas, Cavite.
