Prison Break Caught on Camera: 13 Detainees Escape From Jail Facility in Caloocan
13 DETAINEES – CCTV footage has been released showing 13 detainees escaping from Caloocan City’s temporary detention facility.
A jailbreak may be rare but when it occurs, it often gains a lot of attention from the media. On early Thursday morning, 13 detainees escaped from the Caloocan City Police Station’s temporary detention.
Police Chief Col. Dario Menor said the detainees all tested for coronavirus in rapid antibody tests. A confirmatory reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test is needed.
The closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed the detainees carved a small hole in the concrete room. The incident happened around 1 am.
Based on a report from CNN News, there were 31 detainees inside the Caloocan Police Station’s temporary detention facility prior to their transfer to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facilities.

According to the report, 15 detainees tried to flee but 2 were immediately captured. They are facing charges of illegal firearms and illegal drugs. The authorities are now investigating the jailbreak and hunting down the persons deprived of liberty (PDL).
