Celine Pialago Explains Controversial FB Post Hitting Reina Mae Nasino’s Supporters
CELINE PIALAGO – Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spokesperson Celine Pialago explained her controversial post hitting Reina Mae Nacino’s Supporters.
MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago came under fire for her statements on the plight of jailed activist Reina Mae Nasino and baby River. On her Facebook Page, she said not all moms who are detained are able to attend their child’s burials.
Pialago’s post was deleted by netizens reposted it on social media platforms. She said Nasino’s supporter turned her plight into a “drama serye.” She also urged them to explore the activist’s background to know why she was arrested.
This is her statement:
“Kaya iyong mga sumisimpatiya kay Reina Mae Nasino, pag-aralan ‘nyo mabuti ang dahilan bakit siya nakulong at kilalanin ‘nyong mabuti kung sino siya sa lipunan. Masyado ninyong ginagawang pang-drama serye sa hapon ang paghihinagpis niya. Tigilan ‘nyo!”
Netizens, groups, and celebrities responded to Celine Pialago’s remarks. Actor Enchong Dee lambasted Pialago saying that she is heartless and unintelligent.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, Celine Pialago said she will not apologize for saying supporters of Nasino should understand who she is and why she needed lots of escorts when she went to the wake and burial of her 3-month-old baby.
“Kung mag-apologize po ako sa salita na “drama serye,” sa paghihinagpis n’ya bilang isang ina, I’m sorry but for who you are, kung sino ka, kung bakit ka maraming security, that I won’t apologize. But for the “drama serye” na akala po ay tinutulugsa kita bilang isang naglulusang ina, that I am sorry for the rest of my post, hindi po,” she said.
In a previous article, Vice President Leni Robredo slammed the government’s handling of the funeral of Nasino’s baby. She said it was an “overkill” response against a mom who was grieving.
