PH Removes Ban on Non-Essential Overseas Travel

PH – The Philippines lifted the ban on non-essential overseas travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

More than 200 countries and territories confirmed cases of COVID-19. The pandemic brought a lot of changes in every nation with confirmed cases – and even those territories with no confirmed cases as they must not be complacent.

Even the World Health Organization (WHO) was alarmed by how fast the disease spread across the globe. According to WHO, the pandemic may be a long-term battle.

The Philippines is one of the countries with cases of COVID-19. To curb its spread, the entire nation is still under community quarantine measures now.

Also, the wearing of a face mask and the practice of social distancing became protocols when going outdoors. There were travel restrictions previously as well.

Recently, an update on the ban of PH on overseas travel crossed the surface. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the government has lifted the ban.

Also, according to the report, those who are aging 15 to 20 and 61 to 65 in areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) are now allowed to leave their homes.

As of this writing, the Department of Health (DOH) has logged a total of 351,750 cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines. It includes 6,531 deaths and 294,865 recoveries.

According to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, he has already found the money to buy the COVID-19 vaccine once it is available. However, the fund is still insufficient so he will look for more money.

The President wants everyone to be vaccinated. He also wants to prioritize the poor Filipinos with regards to the order of vaccination.
