PAGASA – Nika, LPA, Habagat, To Cause Rains Over Several Parts Of PH This October 12, 2020
PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, October 12, 2020 (Monday).
The early morning forecast from the state weather bureau says that Tropical Depression Nika, the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat and a a low pressure area (LPA) will cause rains over many parts of PH.
According to GMA News, the habagat will bting monsoon rains over Central Luzon, Pangasinan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan.
The habagat, as well as LPA, and Tropical Depression Nika will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The bureau urged residents to take the necessary precautions against possible flash floods or landslides when it rains.
Based on the report, Nika’s center was located at 245 kilometers west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, or over the West Philippine Sea as of 3 AM. It was packed with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour. Nika is moving west northwestward at 15 kilometers per hour.
On the other hand, the LPA was last spotted at 670 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur as of 3 AM. It is expected to develop into a tropical depression within 48 hours.
The habagat continues to affect Central and Southern Luzon, and Visayas and Mindanao.
The bureau also observed Tropical Storm Chan-Hom outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Chan-Hom was located at about 2,330 kilometers east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon as of 3 AM. It is packed with maximum sustained winds at 65 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour. It is moving southward at 15 kilometers per hour.
The northern and western sections of Northern and Central Luzon will fave rough coastal waters. The rest of Luzon will have moderate to rough seas, while Visayas and Mindanao will have slight to moderate coastal waters.
