Janine Tugonon Hints She’s Returning Home Amid Pandemic to Attend MUP
JANINE TUGONON – Model Janine Tugonon hinted that she’s returning home to attend Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
Filipina model, actress, tv presenter, and beauty queen Janine Tugonon was crowned Miss Universe Philippine 2012. She finished the first runner up in Miss Universe 2012.
Janine was the only Asian to place in the top five. She’s the second Pinay to place first runner-up after Miriam Quiambao at Miss Universe 1999.
After her stint in Miss Universe, Janine Tugonon pursued her modeling career in the United States. She became a permanent resident in the US after a year.
The 30-year-old model became the first Pinoy to be featured in Victoria’s Secret ad. In 2019, she became one of the faces of Venus Williams’ activewear line.
Janine Tugonon recently hinted that she is returning home amid the COVID-19 pandemic to attend the Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) pageant this coming October 25. On her Instagram Stories yesterday, October 11, she said she could not say “no” to her pageant mentor Jonas Gaffud.
Jonas is the creative and events director of the Miss Universe Philippines organization. Janine showed a screenshot of Jonas’ message telling her to go home.
“You guys know I cannot say no to Mama J,” she wrote.
In another post, Janine Tugonon shared the teaser video for Miss Universe Philippines 2020. It came with a caption, “Guess who would go home and see this live?”
