Miss Supranational is now under Miss World Philippines
Miss World Philippines Organization is now taking over the Miss Supranational pageant which was previously under the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc.
To recall, the BPCI also lost its power of the Miss Universe franchise. For several years, the pageant charity organization was handling the contest that is choosing the Philippines’ representative for the most prestigious international beauty pageant.
However, in the recent social media post of the MWP, it has announced that it was able to acquire the Miss Supranational title.
“This latest addition makes the Miss Supranational one of the biggest and coveted titles in the Miss World Philippines organization’s roster, which currently includes: Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Eco International, Miss Eco Teen International, Miss Multinational, and Miss Philippines Tourism,” the post stated.
Based on the article from The Philippine Star, MWP director Arnold Vegafria said that Miss Supranational will become another platform to showcase women empowerment.
“We are thankful for the trust and confidence that the Miss Supranational organization has given us, and we assure them of our commitment and our world-class brand of production values that are always a hallmark of our pageants,” the pageant director added.
Based on the article, reigning Miss Supranational 2019 Anntonia Porsild of Thailand shared this message to congratulate the MWP for acquiring the said title.
“We wish you the best of luck and I can’t wait to see who will represent your beautiful country in the 12th edition of Miss Supranational,” the Thai beauty queen said.
In 2013, the Philippines got its first Miss Supranational title through Mutya Datul. Aside from being the first Filipino who won, she was also the first Asian who brought home the crown from the said pageant.
