Spider-Man 3: Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange Joins Tom Holland
BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH – English actor Benedict Cumberbatch joins the third installment of Spider-Man as Doctor Strange.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has dominated most superhero fans all over the world. The American media franchise’s movie Avengers: Endgame has beaten Titanic to become the 2nd highest-grossing film of all time.
A month after the release of Endgame, MCU released Spider-Man 2. Lead star Tom Holland warned the netizens about the huge spoilers.
Based on a report from Hollywood Reporter, the shooting for Spider-Man 3 is due to begin in Atlanta later this month. Netizens are elated after learning English actor Benedict Cumberbatch is joining the latest Spider-Man movie installment as Doctor Strange.
The move puts the award-winning actor in the mentor role that was previously occupied by American actor Robert Downey Jr. who played Iron Man/Tony Stark on Spider-Man: Homecoming and by Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) in Spider-Man 2.
According to the report, the characteristic of the Spider-Man franchise for Tom Holland to have a father figure. The upcoming movie also has some unexpected ties because they will bring back Jamie Foxx as Electro.
Having Doctor Strange as part of the movie may help explain the return of Electro. John Watts, the director of Homecoming and Far From Home will also direct the 3rd installment.
