Palace Humbled By Positive Opinion Of Public On COVID Response
PALACE HUMBLED – Following President Rodrigo Duterte’s high 91% approval rating, the Palace had a positive opinion from Filipinos regarding its COVID-19 response.
The survey was conducted by Pulse Asia from September 14 to 20. It revealed that the government garnered an 84% approval rating on its efforts to address the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Due to the results, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the survey gave the government more inspiration to work harder amid the pandemic. During a press briefing, Roque said:
Pilipinas, maraming salamat po sa binigay ninyong tiwala na naman sa ating Presidente. Matapos po niyo po siyang bigyan ng 91% trust rating at 91% performance rating, 84 naman po ang binigay niyo sa handling ng coronavirus 19
Furthermore, Roque said that the government was “humbled and further inspired” to serve the Filipinos amidst the coronavirus outbreak. However, despite the high approval rating, the Philippines still has the most number of Coronavirus cases in Southeast Asia.
Currently, the country has recorded around 329,637 cases of COVID-19. Of this number, 49,989 are active cases while 273,723 have recovered from the deadly disease. Sadly, more than 5,900 have succumbed to virus.
