Miss Colombia’s “ghost” comment about Pia Wurtzbach earns comment from Miss Bulgaria, they are candidates during Miss Universe 2015.
PIA WURTZBACH – Miss Bulgaria 2015 Radostina Todorova hits back to controversial “ghost” comment of Colombia’s Ariadna Gutierrez about Pia Wurtzbach.
The win of Pia Wurtzbach as Miss Universe 2015 was controversial and among the most remarkable in the pageant’s history. This is not only because she’s the third Pinay to be crowned as Miss Universe but also the one who was mistakenly called as the first runner up instead of being the winner.
Immediately, Steve Harvey admitted his mistake of announcing Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the Miss Universe 2015 and the crown on her head was taken back transferred to Pia’s. It was awkward, controversial, Colombia got embarrassed, and it made a loud buzz online.
And five years later, Miss Colombia made a comment about Pia and seeing her as someone as a “ghost” and someone she never thought she would be in competition with. In an interview, this is what Gutierrez has accordingly said:
“I actually saw her twice during the competition, once at the dining area and during rehearsals. But a person like a… a ghost! You see her and never again, like the exit signs! Nobody saw her.”
“I used to go with the Latinas but we sat with the Asians and I did not notice her. She was very solitary, too. I did not notice her and when I did, I did not think of her as my competition. That is the truth.”
With this, Miss Bulgaria, the viral candidate who was shouting at Pia to go get the crown while she’s in state of shock following the wrong announcement, speaks about this. She said that she won’t surely Pia because she was always laughing at them, their clothes, their jewelry, their walk, and the way they talk. She was with other Latinas looking down on them.
She even added, “I stand behind my words and that’s why we were all so happy Pia won,” she went on. “You need to be beautiful inside and out, not only looking like a Victoria’s Secret model and act like the queen of England! You will never be, unless you start acting like a decent human being!”
On her IG, Todorova added that she never intended to offend anyone but to comment that way about the winner years after it happened is something that didn’t suit her well. To be beautiful like Pia is accordingly “something you don’t do at the esthetician’s cabinet, it’s something you accomplish at school and at your community”.
