Ini-Save Ako Ng Lifeguard – Roque Thanks Lifeguard For Saving Him

INI-SAVE AKO NG LIFEGUARD – Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque shared a terrifying experience during his trip to Boracay.

Amid the longest-running lockdown in the world, Roque called on the Filipino people to take a vacation in Boracay. Since March, the island has been closed to the public to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

However, Roque didn’t only go to Boracay to promote the island. After all, how can you promote something you haven’t gotten the chance to try yet? So, the Spokesperson decided to have a short swim. But, unbeknownst to him, this short swim ended up lasting almost an hour and a half.

He said that during his swim, the waves were so calm. Because of this, Roque just ended up swimming and swimming. Unfortunately, he didn’t feel the current leading him further away from the shore.

During an interview with TeleRadyo, he said: “Napakakalma ng alon, langoy lang ako nang langoy, hindi ko nararamdaman iyong current, napakalayo ko na“. Luckily, there was a lifeguard nearby that saw him. “Ini-save ako ng lifeguard. Maraming salamat sa lifeguard.”, he said.

Boracay reopened on October 1, 2020. Along with this, Aklan’s Governor said there would be up to 75% off discounts on room rates for tourists visiting the island. Furthermore, several guidelines and health protocols have been established and reinforced for the safety of tourists.
