Duterte May Not Be Able To Visit Boracay Soon, Malacañang Reveals Why

Reason Why Pres. Duterte Is Unlikely To Visit Boracay Soon

DUTERTE – Malacañang revealed the reason why President Rodrigo Roa Duterte may not be able to visit Boracay Island soon.

One of the most notable projects under the present administration is the rehabilitation of Boracay Island. It is one of the top tourist destinations in the country.

Most especially during summer, Boracay gathers both locals and foreign vacationers. It is usually one of the places-to-visit in the checklists of foreign travellers.

However, several human activities have greatly affected Boracay Island leaving it dirty – including its waters. Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has closed it for six months for rehabilitation.

The whole country now is under community quarantine measures. Also, the practice of social distancing and the use of face masks when going outdoors are part of the protocols in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.

Currently, the Department of Health (DOH) has logged a total of 314,079 cases of coronavirus in the country. It includes 5,562 deaths and 254,223 recoveries.
