PNP Asks for List of Accounts and Pages Taken Down by Facebook
Philippine National Police (PNP) asks social media giant, Facebook to give the list of accounts and pages taken down recently,
PNP spokesman Police Colonel Ysmael Yu said Wednesday, they asked for the social media giant to give the list a day after the shutting down of accounts on pages, which is accused to be linked to Philippine police and military.
The said pages and accounts had been taken down due to coordinated inauthentic behavior (CIB) – a violation of Facebook’s community standards. However, the PNP denied that the fake accounts were connected to the police force.

Based on the report of Newspapers, those accounts taken down were said posted military activities against terrorism, domestic politics, criticism of communism, the anti-terrorism bill, youth activists and the opposition, criticism of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), and the New People’s Army (NPA).
Meanwhile, Yu said there is no feedback yet from Facebook. Yu stresses that the PNP’s Anti-Cybercrime Group and the Information Technology Management Service are coordinating with the management of Facebook regarding the matter.
“It is to be noted that PNP does not own [the] FB system so it is not in our control. FB has their list. Sila may-ari, sila naka-detect, sila din ang may skills ng indication of detection sa mga suspicious accounts,” Yu said.
