PHOTOS: James Reid Goes to PAG-AHON Site In Nueva Ecija

JAMES REID – Department of Agriculture’s (DA) Food Security Ambassador James Reid went to PAG-AHON site in Nueva Ecija with DA Secretary William Dar.

Filipino-Australian actor and singer James Reid moved to the Philippines when he was 16. He joined show business in 2010 after winning Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash. He then signed a contract with the Kapamilya network and appeared in tv shows.

The 27-year-old celebrity became known for his movies “Talk Back and You’re Dead,” “Diary Ng Panget,” and “Para sa Hopeless Romantic.” He starred in several tv series with his ex-girlfriend Nadine Lustre.

During the launching of Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Month last May, the Department of Agriculture (DA) announced that they designated James Reid as their Ambassador on Food Security. The agency said the handsome actor will help promote the country’s agriculture.

“I believe that the access to healthy, fresh food ia s basic right that should be afforded by every Filipino. It’s our farmers and fisherfolk who are the ones protecting this right. They are the unsung heroes of our country, the backbone and heartbeat of the economy. I want to encourage all of us to support efforts and dedication of farmers and fisherfolks who work tirelessly to provide food we put on the table. Let us now take this for granted,” James said during his speech.

James Reid took to his Instagram account to thank the agency for appointing him as their new ambassador. He also uploaded a photo of himself hugging a plant. However, he received backlash after being named as DA’s ambassador.

This month, James Reid joined PAG-AHON program launch in Nueva Ecija. He shared an update on the program on social media. DA Secretary William Dar and other officials led the launching of the #PlantPlantPlant Program.

In a post on his Instagram account last September 26, he shared, “Been planting a lot of seeds. Wait till you see what grows! In Nueve Ecija for the launch of the PAG-AHON Program with Sec Dar.”
