The victim, identified as Francis Alfonso, a resident of Sampaloc City, Manila, was still conscious as he was talking to his rescuers, according to a report from ABS-CBN News.

He was about to cross the corner between Elliptical Road and East Avenue when a taxi crashed him.

The driver of the said taxi, identified as Christian Ciscar, meanwhile, claimed that he was unable to see the cyckist because of a vehicle in front of him. He added that the cyclist’s steering wheel hit his mirror.

“Hindi ko napansin, mabilis takbo niya, kasi tumatawid. Napansin ko na lang na biglang may tumunog, kaya huminto ako. Nasagi sa mirror lang yung manibela niya,”

The taxi driver joined with a traffic investigator, while the driver was taken to the hospital, based on the report.

ABS-CBN’s Zhander Cayabyab posted four photos of the incident on Twitter, which you can check right here.
