Netizen Critical Of City Bacolod City Gov’t Handling of COVID-19 Pandemic

BACOLOD CITY – A netizen is critical of the Bacolod City government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last month, the officials of Bacolod City appealed to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to place the city under stricter quarantine and add more healthcare workers amid the increasing cases of COVID-19. The pandemic has taken a toll on the city’s health care system.

The 75-year-old chief executive eventually responded to the “emergency” appeal of Bacolod City. The city is now under modified enhanced community quarantine or MECQ. The locally stranded individuals (LSIs) are not allowed to enter the city while it’s under stricter lockdown.

Annabelle Patricio Compao’s cousin Ivan B. Patricio shared on his Facebook about that Annabelle was swab-tested for COVID-19 for free at Doctors Hospital in Bacolod. She tested positive so she decided to get tested again at Red Cross where she got a negative result.

Ivan said his cousin experience discrimination and it’s stressing her out. Annabelle posted her COVID-19 RT-PCT test report and certification conducted by Red Cross on her FB account.

In another post, Compao question why the midwife got mad after learning she took a reswab and they will send cops in their house. She said she’s already “psychologically tortured” by the way they handle the COVID-19 patients.
