Wildfire Causes Orange Skies, At Least 5 Towns Destroyed
WILDFIRE CAUSES ORANGE SKIES – Apocalyptic orange skies spanned across western united states as wildfires destroyed hundreds of homes.
According to a report from Philstar, at least five town were “substantially destroyed” due to the blaze. Furthermore, widespread evacuations took place as homes were lost, and families were lost.
Officials have also warned of potential mass deaths as officials have yet to finish rescues. California governor Kate Brown said, “I want to be upfront in saying that we expect to see a great deal of loss, both in structures and in human lives”.
She added that the wildfire could be the greatest loss of human lives and property. Unfortunately, Oregon struggled to contain the flames, unprecedented heatwaves, and intense dry winds caused the fire to spread.
Residents of Detroit, one of the five towns hit by the flames described the incident as “driving through hell”. Currently, there have been no officially reported deaths. However, officials would likely confirm this in the following days.
Meanwhile, there were at least 8 confirmed deaths in California as residents woke up to a deep orange sky which completely blocked out the sun. Meanwhile, environmental advocates have explained that this was one of the effects of climate change.
As the climate begins to heat-up, California, known for its wildfires had severely been hit. Just this year, PhilStar reports 7,600 wildfires in the state with over 2.5 million acres of property burned down.
