NTF Official Speaks on Undas 2020 Amid COVID-19 Pandemic in PH

UNDAS 2020 – A COVID-19 National Task Force (NTF) official said that the Philippine cemeteries may be closed on November 1-2.

Among the holidays that are widely celebrated in the Philippines are the All Saints’ Day every November 1 and the All Souls’ Day in November 2. These two events gather the people in cemeteries.

In fact, in some households, the family members really prepare a lot of food and some of the other family members would come over. Many people also bring food to cemeteries to eat after offering some prayers to their loved ones who have passed away.

The people also visit parks and other areas where flower vendors can be found to buy flowers for their late loved ones. Lighting a candle and offering flowers to the dead in cemeteries are part of the celebration.

However, it seems that changes may take place this Undas 2020. It is mainly because of the COVID-19 pandemic that hit over 200 countries and territories across the globe including the Philippines.
