According to an article from Inquirer, Police Gen. Camilo Cascolan said:

The PNP Internal Affairs Service has formally filed admin cases against nine PNP personnel who are respondents in a criminal case for murder and planting of evidence filed by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)  before the Department of Justice (DOJ)  in connection with the death of the four Philippine Army personnel in Jolo, Sulu last June 29, 2020

Currently, the nine officers linked to the shooting were placed under restrictive custody at Camp Crame, Quezon City. These police officers were known as:

  • Senior Master Sgt. Abdelzhimar Padjiri
  • Master Sgt. Hannie Baddiri
  • Staff Sgts. Iskandar Susulan and Erniskar Sappal
  • Cpl. Sulki Andaki, and Pat. Moh Nur Pasani from the Jolo Municipal Police Station
  • Staff Sgt. Almudzrin Hadjaruddin and Patrolmen Alkajal Mandangan and Rajiv Putalan from the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Sulu police.

As per the article, the PNP chief stated that all personnel tagged in the case would be given due process as the investigations on the shooting continues. The Army Officers were flagged down by police despite providing the necessary documentation proving they’re members of the Philippine Army.

They were then instructed to proceed to the police station for identity verification. However, according to the involved officers, the Army men tried to escape and pointed their fire arms against the cops prior to the shooting.

Meanwhile, the military strongly refuted the claim with Gen. Gilbert Gapay tagging the shooting incident as murder.
