The latest weather forecast from the state bureau says that the severe tropical storm Haishen which is outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) recently intensified into a typhoon.

According to Inquirer, Haishen is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility or PAR. It was last spotted 1,800 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.

The typhoon is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 150 kilometers per hour. Haishen will be locally named “Kristine” once it enters PAR.

Based on the report, the southwest monsoon or “habagat” will bring moderate to strong winds in northern Luzon.

The entire archipelago will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the southwest monsoon or localized thunderstorms.
