PAGASA – Habagat To Bring Scattered Rains, Thunderstorms This September 1, 2020
PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day, September 1, 2020 (Monday).
The latest weather update from the state bureau says that the southwest monsoon or habagat will be affecting central and southern Luzon on this day.
According to GMA News, as of 3 AM, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was last spotted at about 775 kilometers east of Hinatuan town, Surigao del Sur.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro. Flash floods or landslides may occur due to scattered moderate with ocassionally heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will face cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to habagat and localized thunderstorms. The bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur especially uring severe thunderstorms.
Based on the report, the bureau is observing active tropical cyclones outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Typhoon Maysak (locally known as Julian) was last spotted at 785 kilometers north northeast of extreme northern Luzon.
It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour with gusts of up to 215 kilometers per hour. The weather disturbance is currently moving northwestward at 25 kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile, a tropical depression is placed at about 2,415 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon. It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour with gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
For the wind speed forecast, the northern and eastern sections of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds that are moving southwestward while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.
Visayas and the rest of Luzon will will have light to moderate winds that are moving southwestward while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
Mindanao will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the southeast to southwest direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
