Luis Manzano Reveals Mom Vilma Santos Try To Make His Childhood ‘Normal’
LUIS MANZANO – TV host Luis Manzano revealed his mom Vilma Santos tried to make his childhood ‘normal.’
Actress-turned-politician Vilma Santos started as a child actress then eventually became a superstar. She’s currently regarded as the ‘Star for All Seasons.’
Vilma holds the title as one of the longest-reigning box-office queens of the Philippine cinema. She starred in films of various genres including horror, suspense, romance, drama, action, fantasy, and comedy.
Vilma Santos is no longer active in show business as she carries on with her duties as the Rep. of Batangas’ 6th district. In Jessy Mendiola’s latest Youtube vlog called ‘Heart-To-Heart Talk with the HowsHows,’ her boyfriend Luis Manzano revealed that his mom tried to make his childhood normal for him.
The Kapamilya host said spending time with her in public is always a challenging task for them. When asked of which girl besides Mendiola he would want to have a date, he didn’t think twice about naming his mom.

Luis Manzano explained the reason why he chose his mom. He said he chose her because he and his mom did not get to experience the “normal things” as most parents do such as walking around the mall together.
“From my heart, mommy ko. Seryoso. Kasi ‘yun ‘yung ibang bagay na hindi naming nagawa ng ermat ko – have something na parang quality time. Kasi alam ng lahat na ‘yung mommy ko is a superstar. So marami kaming hindi nagawa na bagay,” Luis said.
Luis Manzano shared a memory from when he was still a young boy. He said his mom Vilma Santos brought him to the supermarket when he was around 6 or 7 years old, in an attempt to make his childhood normal.
“‘Yung isang beses nga nag-grocery kami ni Mommy. Ito ‘yung attempt ni Mommy na bigyan ako ng isang normal life. Nung bata ako, dinala niya ako sa grocery. Siguro mga six ako nito or seven years old para ma-experience na ‘yung mommy kasama ‘yung anak ‘di ba grocery?”
“Pagtapak pa lang naming – siguro mga tatlong tapak palang – parang mall show. Hindi na kami naka-forward. Pagpasok pa lang sa grocery, nakilala nila mommy ko. Tapos derecho dinala ako ni Mommy sa kotse tapos uwi na kami. So basically wala kami nagawa,” he added.
