Senator Lacson Slams Duque For “Blessing In Disguise” Statement
LACSON SLAMS DUQUE – It seems like every time Health Secretary Francisco Duque says something controversial, Senator Panfilo Lacson was always there to call him out.
Lacson along with several other lawmakers have a history of calling out Duque for his decisions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, Lacson had called out Duque for his “lack of leadership”, “pattern of failures”, and statements regarding the coronavirus.
This time, Lacson slammed Duque for saying that COVID-19 can be considered as a “Blessing in disguise”. According to an article from ABS-CBN, Lacson cited the anomalies from within the DOH and PhilHealth.
Along with this, the Senator emphasized that amid all the controversy, “we hear the secretary of health saying that the pandemic is a ‘blessing in disguise,’ we know for sure we haven’t seen the worse for our suffering countrymen, health-wise and their economic well-being“.
During an online forum, Duque said:

Currently, around 44% of the working Filipino have no jobs due to COVID-19. This number amounts to over 20 million Filipinos who couldn’t find income to feed their families amid the coronavirus pandemic.
