The media asked the Palace spokesperson because the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año tested positive again for COVID-19. The President joined Año at the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) meeting in Davao last week.

Roque said: “There is a velvet rope that keeps him at least six feet away from everyone else. “He’s in perpetual isolation, in the sense that the PSG has done a very good job in making sure that no one really comes close to the President,” he added.

Roque added that the DILG secretary could not be said to have had close contact with the President because they were apart during the meeting. They also said that they continue to implement the minimum health protocols.
