Giant Fish Found After 6.5 Magnitude Earthquake

GIANT FISH FOUND – A giant Opah, or better known as a sunfish, was found following the 6.5 magnitude earthquake in Masbate.

Usually, the giant Opah or moonfish spends most of their time in deep waters. However, due to the strong quake, the fish may have been affected. As such, it mistakenly swam to shallow waters was fishermen were able to catch it.

Meanwhile, 5 days before the quake, a deep-sea oarfish was also found by residents in Agusan del Norte. Oarfish are deep-sea fish that live close to active faults. As such, the fish has developed a greater sensitivity to chemical changes in the water just before an earthquake happens.

According to some, oarfish are a messenger of bad omens. Oarfish lying dead or injured on the shore, it is considered a sign of a natural disaster. Furthermore, 20 oarfish were found in Japan in 2011 just before the Tsunami in Japan.

Meanwhile, On Tuesday (August 18, 2020), the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology released the latest updates regarding the status of the volcanoes in the country. The report says four of the biggest volcanoes show irregularities.
