Nigerian Newspaper Tags President Duterte As Russia’s Lab Rat

NIGERIAN NEWS – A Nigerian newspaper tagged the Philippines’ President Rodrigo Duterte as Russia’s own personal lab rat.

Recently, Duterte welcomed news that Russia would be giving away their newly approved COVID-19 vaccine to the Philippines for free.

Furthermore, Duterte added that he would personally inject himself with the vaccine as a sign of trust, and thanks.

However, several countries and health experts voiced concerns regarding Russia’s new vaccine – Sputnik V. According to most experts, the vaccine for COVID-19 would likely be fully developed by the year’s end or early 2021.

Meanwhile, Russia said they had already tested Sputnik V for its safety and effectiveness against COVID-19. Additionally, the Rusian government also decried critics of their vaccine.

In a Facebook post, Russia said that foreign pharmaceuticals are merely targeting Russia as they won the vaccine race for COVID-19. Furthermore, they said that those critics were only thinking about business. Meanwhile, the post emphasized that Russia would give their vaccines for free.

Currently the Philippines has recorded 143,749 COVID-19 cases. Of that number, over 2,400 have succumbed to the deadly disease. Meanwhile, the number of recoveries increased to 68,997.
